Leslie P. Mitchell Joins RMA as KRI Services Manager

Philadelphia, PA (December 8, 2005)—Leslie P. Mitchell has been appointed KRI Services Manager by the Risk Management Association (RMA). In this position she will manage the Key Risk Indicator (KRI) Library and Benchmarking Services that RMA launched in early 2005.

Led by an industry steering committee, KRI Services are designed to improve operational risk management at financial services companies. KRI Services grew out of the KRI Banking Study carried out in 2003-04 by RiskBusiness, an international consultancy specializing in operational risk management that is RMA’s strategic partner in developing KRI Services. The KRI Library provides subscribers with online access to some 2,000 standard indicator definitions and specifications. It sets the stage for peer-group benchmarking, which will be delivered through KRI Benchmarking Services, beginning in early 2006. More information about KRI Services is available at www.KRIeX.org.

“Leslie has a proven ability to manage financial industry initiatives and a deep knowledge of operational risk issues,” said Charles Taylor, RMA’s director of operational risk, who has overseen the creation of KRI Services. “Her strong background along with her firm commitment to the vision of KRI Services make her the ideal person to manage KRI Services to its full potential.”

Carole Carpentier, senior manager of operational risk at RBC Financial Group, a subscriber institution, also is pleased with the appointment. “Leslie will play a key role in continuing the momentum that has built in KRI Services over the past year,” said Carpentier who is chair of the KRI industry steering committee. “We look forward to leveraging her background and experience for this important industry risk management initiative.”

Before joining RMA, Mitchell was a senior director at BITS/Financial Services Round Table in Washington, D.C. She also served as secretary of the board for the International Financial Exchange from 2000 to 2003. She served as a faculty member of NACHA: The Electronic Payments Association in 2003 and 2004, and spoke at more than a dozen conferences and industry events regarding BITS and BITS initiatives.

Mitchell is a graduate of Georgetown University.
